The demo matches the full listing on Windows only, English only, and single-player. Verified Requirements are the same as the full game on the demo store page, except the demo page omits the RAM line that the full game lists. Verified

Third-party demo footage before Demo 2.0 suggested the demo upgrade tree was smaller than what full-game screenshots show. Observed in Demo Demo 2.0 may have changed that; we have not re-verified tree size after the patch. Demo footage by Gloworm (YouTube) informed that observed note; we do not use their video frames here.

How do you download the Mycelarium Demo?

Open the Mycelarium Demo on Steam while signed into the Steam client or website, then use Download or Play Demo on that page. No price is charged; Steam marks the demo as free. Verified

What changed in Demo 2.0?

PLAN KAPKAN shipped Demo 2.0 on October 30, 2026 via Steam news. The post lists four changes: Verified

1. Repeller mushroom unlocked to counter the sneaky hedgehog named in the announcement.
2. New visuals added to the demo build.
3. Save system implemented so progress can be stored in the demo.
4. Balance tweaked across demo gameplay.

The same post mentions full release is very very soon with hopefully November 3rd; that is launch timing for the full game, not a demo-only feature.

What does the Demo include, and what is left for the full game?

In the demo (per Steam): constrained map space, core shooting and networking loops, a subset of mushrooms and upgrades, and a preview tone rather than the full empire scale. Verified

Full-game pitch (official store and trailer copy): a larger procedural underground, more resources, more upgrades and mushroom mutations, interaction with the surface forest, and growing the network into a vast fungal empire. Verified The official trailer subtitle 12 TYPES OF MUSHROOMS appears on screen; PLAN KAPKAN does not list which twelve types exist or how many appear in the demo. Verified

Will Demo saves carry over?

PLAN KAPKAN confirmed Demo 2.0 has a save system but did not say whether those files import into the full game. Not announced Until an official FAQ or store note appears, assume carry-over is not announced and back up anything you care about manually if you reinstall.
